About Jane Lee
In her work, Jane Lee desires to capture the Natural Beauty of her surroundings in order to stir the memories and emotions of her viewers. Her background and training are extensive and varied. She has studied different aspects of art with different artist whose work she admires. For portraiture and figure drawing, she studied with Dan Sprick and Carolyn Anderson. For landscape painting, she studied with Dan Young and Matt Smith. Jane has studied painting and drawing at Colorado Mountain College, The University of Colorado and Ft. Lewis College.
Jane’s travels have taken her around the world including trips to Mexico and Italy where she painted on site. Jane’s work has been exhibited in some prestigious shows including: Oil Painters of America – Carmel and Taos, and Tucson Plein Air Competition. Jane has judge several art competitions and was awarded a National Show Award at the Salmagundi Club in New York – one of the oldest art clubs in this country.
In addition to teaching art courses at Colorado Mountain College, Jane has also been active in local schools working with children of all grade levels to expose them to the arts. She remains active in the local art community through painting demonstrations.
